Daniel was one of the young Jews taken into Babylonian captivity, but he was considered one of the best of them, so he was chosen to serve in King Nebuchadnezzar's court. Daniel was elevated for telling Nebuchadnezzar what his dream was and then interpreting it (Daniel 2:26-49). See when you are chosen, you are just chosen. Simple as that. Don't get mad at me because I'm chosen! So yes, Daniel was elevated. You might be in a place where you don't want to be, but rest assured your gifts can make room for you!
It's easy to praise God when you feel like everything is going well. But even in captivity, you've got to give God an "in-spite-of" praise! In spite of my situation... in spite of my circumstance... I WILL praise the King of kings and the Lord of lords! Psalm 34:1 says, "I will bless the Lord at ALL TIMES: His praise shall CONTINUALLY be in my mouth." You might be in a "strange land" (Psalm 137:4) like the Jews were at times, and you might ask, "Where is God in all this mess around me?" But I should remind you, God inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3)! So when your praise shows up... expect God to show up and show out, and He'll work out something great on your behalf!
