So we have reached the end of the year 2010. I'm sure many, if not all of us, had our major ups and downs, especially as we tried our best to deal with this struggling economy. But I believe that through it all, God has seen us through another year once again. He has been faithful to us even when we didn't always see it, and I trust He will continue to be faithful. 1 Corinthians 1:9 states, "God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord." He is the Author and Finisher of our faith, according to Hebrews 12:2, so He knows the end from the beginning. Because He knows all, we don't have to worry about trying to know everything. And we don't have to fret. God will take care us as we go into the new year.
For many people, this new year will mark a turning point in your jobs, in your education, in your finances, in your relationships with friends and loved ones, or even in your personal lives. Whatever the case might be, remain encouraged and know "that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28). Notice it says, "His purpose," not our own purposes. God has a plan for each of us and as we obey Him in love, and do the things that are pleasing in His sight to advance the God's kingdom, we will see His glory manifested in awesome ways. As we seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness (Matt. 6:33), we will see blessings, healing, deliverance, transformation, and other good things take place. For those who will truly commit to trusting God this new year, and even beyond that, they will see God's hand work things out like never before. God can make a way out of what seems to be no way.
So whatever you might have had to struggle with or simply deal with this year, leave it there and dare to enter into the new year 2011 with a fresh mindset with your heart set on pressing "toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus" (Phil. 3:14).
Be encouraged and Happy New Year!
