I just wanted to share some thoughts taken in note format a while back in a church service that I hope will bless someone. Consider this question, how many of us are true worshipers of God? We thank Him and praise Him in various church settings, but when we are not in church, do we still have a mind to WORSHIP the Lord? Check this out:
- Genesis 2:7-8
- Joel 2:3
- Revelation 7:9-17
- People see what is going on in the world and ask “Why would God allow tragedies to happen to people? It’s a sign of the times.
- People are the ones making crazy decisions, not God. God gave us dominion over the earth. We cannot put it off on God like He’s responsible. Things are the way they are because of the curse put on the earth after Adam sinned in the garden of Eden.
- Now there is a spiritual awakening all over the world, but [Christian] church attendance is at a record low.
- People are trying to reach for something bigger than themselves.
- Ref. --> Matthew 11:12; Luke 16:16
- But people are becoming “spiritual” in the wrong way by turning to the occult, dogma, and/or religion over true relationship with Christ.
- It’s time for God’s people to speak a word of truth in due season.
- What troubles us the most about what we see in the world has to do with our calling. You will try to find a way to deal with what you find disturbing.
- God is using people who don’t think they have it all together to bring in a mighty harvest.
- The only perfect One is Christ.
- Don’t wait til you think you have it all together to start serving God. We’ll never have it all together.
- We see all the puzzle pieces before us that, when put together, make form a perfect image. But we can’t get frustrated while going through the process of putting the pieces together.
- God doesn’t tell us everything about our future so we don’t mess it up. When He tells you to do something, you might know why He is telling you to do it. It’s ok, you don’t have to know everything. Just trust and obey.
- When you see the glory go after it.
- Ref --> Joshua 3:3
- Adam had creative power in his speech. Whatever he named something, that’s what it was.
- Ref --> Genesis 2:19, 20
- Garden in Eden --> It was not just a garden --> It was an atmosphere --> Too many people are trying to find the right location (church) instead of the right atmosphere. We can re-create the atmosphere of Eden anywhere if we want to worship God bad enough.
- The culture of the Kingdom of God is worship.
- If we are around someone long enough, we should be able to discern their culture. So if people are around us long enough, they should have no problem understanding that we are God’s Kingdom citizens.
- 1) Adam had to work the garden.
o Work with what God has given you.
- 2) Adam had to walk with God.
o To continue to know what work to do for God, you have to keep walking with God. So many people get off track labor in vain because they don’t know what exactly God wants them to do because they stopped walking with Him.
- The Eden experience was supposed to spread throughout the world.
- Psalm 16:11
- 3) Adam had to worship God.
o If we worship God, the glory we experience in one place will spread to another.
- Adam messed up, and stopped walking with God when he let another voice (that of Eve) influence him.
- Don’t let another voice destroy your drive to walk with God.
- Genesis 3:22-24
- Adam lost the great Eden experience, but we get a part of that back when we praise and worship God.
- God wants us to use the breath of life that was in Adam to praise Him
- Ref. --> Genesis 2:7; Psalm 150:6
- Don’ t worship the worship, but worship God Himself.
o Don’t get stuck on how well you sing and praise, but focus totally on God.
- Psalm 27:4 – It will take you your entire life “to behold the beauty of the Lord.”
- Everything that happens to us should drive us to worship God.
- Genesis 2:7-8
- Joel 2:3
- Revelation 7:9-17
