And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. Romans 13:11
The Holy Spirit has revealed to me that 2011 is “The Year of the “Catch Up”. To catch up means to travel fast enough to overtake an advance party. However, before we can catch up we must WAKE UP. Paul tells us that the time for slumber has long since passed. He states, “it is high time to awake out of sleep”. The words "high time" mean that a specific hour has arrived. It is the time for God to favor us. It is the set time. Spiritual alarm clocks are going off all throughout the Body of Christ. It is time for modern day Mordecais to order modern Esthers to the King because we have come into the Kingdom for such a time as this.
There is something we all must recognize, something Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr called “the fierce urgency of NOW!” There such a thing as being too late. Our future has arrived. Our moment has come. If not you, who? If not now, when? Paul is telling us that we have no more time to sleep. Now it is time to become active in the business of the Lord. His words remind us that there is an urgency to the things of God. Everyday, people are dying without the Lord. Everyday the forces of evil are growing stronger and working harder to eliminate this generation.
There is a tremendous need for believers everywhere to wake up from their slumber to recognize the seriousness and the lateness of the hour and to get busy “catching up” on their divine assignment. If you are planning to tell your neighbors about Jesus, the time is now! If you are going back to school the time is now! If you are going to tell your family about Jesus the time is now. If you are going to go to work for the Lord the time is now!
Before the torrential rains fell on Israel, Elijah (a rainmaker) warned King Ahab by saying, “Climb into your chariot and go back home. If you don't hurry, the rain will stop you!” While Ahab was riding in his chariot hurrying home, he saw something going passed his chariot. It was behind him. When he looked again, it was in front of him. The Bible says, “The hand of the Lord came upon Elijah. He tucked his belt in his cloak and out ran Ahab to Jezreel.” Remember to catch up is to travel fast enough to overtake an advance party. This is the year that God will help you to catch up and outrun your enemies. Not only will you catch up this year, but you will also be caught: “…and all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the LORD your God.” This is the Year of the Catch Up!
Prayer Father, I am awake. Like Esther, prepare me for my presentation. Like Elijah, touch me so I can touch others. I thank you giving me the strength this year to catch up. I praise you in advance for blessing. In Jesus Name, Amen.
